Dr. Nick Cost Talks about TMJ and Teeth Grinding
In our practice, we meet a lot of patients who have issues with headaches, migraines, teeth grinding, and tooth breakage. And especially post-COVID, that has been a real issue. There’s a lot of things going on in the world. Stress definitely will lead to more tooth grinding, headaches, migraines, jaw pain.
And so, it’s a real phenomena that we’re seeing. At our office, you know, we’ve committed to learning the latest, greatest techniques on how to alleviate and help people with that. We have some really nice custom-fitted night guards, I’m getting fit people with to help with headaches and migraines.
Believe it or not, a lot of people don’t realize this, but one of the leading causes of migraine and headache pain is how your teeth fit together. We have some very non-invasive, comfortable solutions that we can outfit and fit you with to almost immediately get rid of that headache and migraine pain. So it’s pretty exciting.
And then also, we can make standard night guards, mouth guards, and use those in a way to prevent tooth breakage because no one wants to break a tooth or lose a tooth because of, you know, they’re biting on their teeth too hard. Those mouthguards are, again, a really great, inexpensive way, noninvasive way to prevent those problems.
