Dr. Nick Cost Talks about Mini Dental Implants
Mini dental implants, you know, a lot of times people ask me, “Well, so what’s the difference between a mini dental implant and a standard implant?” What I always talk to patients is five times less. So mini dental implants are gonna be less invasive, less discomfort, less healing time, also less expensive.
And then they’re also less business to the dentist, which, I mean, as much as all of our patients love us, they don’t want to come to us and see us any more than they have to, right? It’s really, they’re narrower in diameter, so we can fit them into tighter spots. And what that means for patients is that a lot of patients, they will have to undergo…because, like, let’s say they lost a tooth, you know, a number of years ago, that bone sometimes shrinks.
And so they would have to go through some extensive surgeries to build that bone back up before they can have some tooth replacement with an implant. And so a lot of times with mini implants, we can get them in tight spots, helping patients avoid additional procedures. So that’s also, you know, I would say, an added benefit.
When you smile and you see your smile, whether you have a mini implant or a standard implant, you know, the result is the same. It’s just how we deliver the result. So we’ve been doing mini implants, like I said, since 2014, and they just work. We have the same success rate as standard implants, and people love the fact that we can do things, you know, cheaper, faster, more efficiently, and with less pain. I mean, who wouldn’t want that?
